4 Ways To Create Good Vibes In Your Office

posted by christinalaniak on Mar 20 2018 in Welcome

Everyone hopes the job they choose is going to be one that they actually enjoy going to, right? Well guess what... making that wish come true starts with YOU! Good vibes and positivity in the workplace is an effort that we all must strive for! Making the effort for yourself will in fact make the workplace a better, more fun and enjoyable place to be. Here are 4 suggestions that are essential for good vibes.

4 Ways To Create Good Vibes In Your Office

It all begins and ends with your attitude. Whether you’re the boss of a large company or the intern in the mailroom, your attitude is an important part of the every day culture at work. Did you wake up late, spill your coffee on your shirt and then realize you forgot your notes for the big meeting today? Bad days happen!! But try to remember not to take it out on your employees or coworkers. Making a conscious effort to keep the negativity at bay will not only have a positive impact on those around you, but also with your own frame of mind. Take a deep breath in, focus on the good and smile! In fact, start simple. For the rest of the day, I challenge you to give an ear to ear silly, heartwarming smile to everyone who looks your way. You may be surprised to see how contagious a smile really is!

Give your office space a make over! Take a look around at your office… does it make you happy? Starting small and simply organizing the stacks of papers on your desk can have a huge impact on your happiness. Clutter is proven to raise the stress level in your brain and actually makes you LESS productive. It would be well worth your company’s time to have a monthly “de-cluttering hour” where every employee takes an hour or two to stop what they are doing and get organized! Organization=happier employees=more productivity=GOOD VIBES!

4 Ways To Create Good Vibes In Your OfficePart 2 to this “make-over” suggestion is to add something fun to the mix. Maybe choose a wall (think conference room, break room, the lobby/front entrance,or individual office spaces) and put up a graphic that adds a real WOW factor to the décor. Something that can get employees and customers alike excited to step foot into the building! Maybe your coworkers are always talking about how great it would be to be at the beach instead of at work… well then why not bring the beach to them every time they break for lunch! Or maybe when you close your eyes to go to your “happy place” you find yourself among the pine trees soaking in the gorgeous views of a mountain lake. There’s no reason you can’t bring that serenity to your office every single day! Need some ideas for creating the perfect piece for your office? Check us out at www.decorbrilliance.com or Email us at support@decorbrilliance.com and we will help you come up with the perfect graphic.

Whether you want to call it team building or just plain fun, plan something that’s a little “out of the box” every now and then. Maybe step away from the usual every day schedule and let your team come in an hour later on a Monday. Or give an employee their birthday off with pay. Even something as simple as bringing in a special lunch that everyone can enjoy a couple times a month is meaningful and can help people re-charge and realize what they love about their job and the people that they work with! Want to go above and beyond in this department? Appoint a few people in the office, give them a budget and deem them the “fun committee”. Bonding between employees will most definitely result in good vibes in the work place!

4 Ways To Create Good Vibes In Your Office

Check in more often with each other. Taking the time to speak with each other about more than just work tasks (within reason of course!) is important. Just asking the simple question, “Hey Mike, how did the little league game go with your son?” can mean the world! Making real connections with the people you spend 40+ hours a week with will only make the time spent more enjoyable. Having friends at work just makes going to work more fun!

Checking in can also mean sharing accomplishments regularly with the whole group. From something as small as the customer service rep catching a mistake before the job went to print, or the salesman who snagged a great new account, or how your secretary’s daughter graduated school with honors…highlighting the accomplishments and details your employees and coworkers are proud of will most definitely spread good vibes and smiles all around. Try to make these announcements a regular part of your week!

Have you put any of these suggestions into play? Spread the good vibes and share your stories with us!

See WHO is NEW at Excelsus in 2018!

posted by christinalaniak on Jan 04 2018 in Welcome

Have you ever seen a handmade hot wire system activate styrene to form the perfect angle needed for your printed point of sale? Well if not, you’re in for a real treat! Watch our newest customer service representative, Ryan as he perfects his heat bending technique!

Ryan joined us on December 12th, 2017. He’s worked in the print industry for the past 8 years, previously as a Digital Production Coordinator for a small format digital and offset printer in Denver, Colorado. Prior to that he worked in the entertainment industry producing motion graphics for film and television.

I’m sure you’re wondering if Ryan has hidden talents aside from his styrene bending… the answer is YES, he does! Ryan is a trained improviser and used to perform weekly at the ioWest Theater in LA. He also plays music (guitar, harmonica & vocals) as well as runs a website called fivetoolschool.com, which provides training tips and gear reviews for amateur and youth baseball players and coaches. Wow, right? Ryan is a go-getter and someone you definitely want to get to know!

Of course we are excited to have Ryan as a part of our five star customer service team. But we think he is just as excited to be with us as well! He says, “I think both the quality and scope of work created here is outstanding. I can tell that there is strong sense of family here and people are happy to come to work each day. I’m excited to learn all that Excelsus has to offer and to be able to use these tools to bring out clients brands to life by providing creative solutions for them.”

See WHO is NEW at Excelsus in 2018!

Another newcomer is our enthusiastic sales rep, Brad. Brad is new to the print industry, but super excited to learn all there is to know about the business! He has been with us since December 18th, 2017 and says in the short few weeks, he already loves the Excelsus culture and feels like he is becoming part of a real family! Brad says “There is an unlimited amount of opportunity for this company and many markets within our reach to provide creative solutions for. I can’t wait to help my customers reach their true print potential and enhance their products and brands.”

Aside from work, Brad has a real love for sports. Particularly basketball! He plays 2-3 nights a week and outdoors adventuring the rest of his spare time.

Needless to say, we are VERY happy to welcome both Ryan and Brad to the Excelsus team. We are so lucky to have such positivity and passion and look forward to sharing these vibes with our customers in 2018!

Gonna Get Married- Part 2

posted by christinalaniak on Sep 21 2017 in Welcome

Next up we would like to congratulate our estimator, Julia Marshall-Augustus. Julia and Carrie were married in August at Durand Eastman Park. The weather couldn't have been more perfect (luckily since it was all outdoors!). They had family and friends come to celebrate from all over the country. The farthest being Julia's brother from California, Carrie's brother from Texas and some aunts & uncles from Florida. Julia said " We have extremely supportive family and friends and were so lucky to be able to celebrate with all of them."

Carrie's 2 daughters (pictured above, Madison and Ella-- SO ADORABLE!) were her Jr. Maid of Honor and Jr. Bridesmaid. Julia had both men & women stand up on her side, so they called the men her "Bridesmen" instead of groomsmen. Clever! One of the best parts was that Julia's own brother married them! Such a special day.

Julia shared some photos of their tropical honeymoon in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. It was Julia's first time traveling outside of the country. Her dream has been to relax in white sand and beautiful blue water... and she said that was exactly what they got!

Julia said they encountered so many wonderful people, from the staff to other guests. "It's amazing the kindness you find when everyone is relaxed and happy." Maybe we should create a relaxing beach room at Excelsus... we can definitely print one!!

Congratulations to Julia and Carrie!! The Excelsus Team is honored to have shared in your happiness. Cheers!

Going to the Chapel...Part 1

Going to the Chapel...Part 1

Wedding bells have been ringing here at Excelsus Solutions. We would like to congratulate some of our employees for recently tying the knot!

First to start, our "planning and purchasing man", Liam O'Boyle, (who also claims to make a mean grilled cheese) married his beautiful girlfriend, Nicole, in July at the Seneca Lake Duck Hunters Club. They sealed their first kiss as a married couple overlooking Seneca Lake with their loved ones as witness... including their adorable dog, Pearl! Liam said the wedding was perfect and all they had hoped for. With the exception of a minor mishap when the best man locked his keys in his car. But luckily he had the rings in his pocket! Also at the rehearsel dinner, Miss Pearl took them on a spur of the moment run around the grounds trying to entice a Coyote to chase her. Being the "pup of honor", all was quickly forgiven. :)

After the wedding the newly married Mr. & Mrs. O'Boyle headed to their honeymoon in Alaska! Liam was kind enough to share some photos from their trip... Check them out!

A grizzly bear and her cubs... from a safe distance. Liam said this is the closest he wanted to get without protection. Not sure why though, they are just like big brown teddy bears right?! :)

We are so happy for you Liam and Nicole! Cheers to you!
